I decided to take a peak at the cyber space my blog is taking up, and to not any surprise of mine, realized it has well over a year since I posted.
Well, time to look at the open door instead of the back of the closed one!
I have felt the past couple of days that I am driving through the same mud just a different day. I truly have so much to be thankful for! I find that when I notice what I don't have, what I want, need, etc. I can't see what I do have!
With the recent devastation in Japan I bet many of the Japanese people would trade the glow of my light (this very late night) with the trials that seem to come with the very light!
I believe in personal growth. I am not the most educated person to tell you have to achieve the growth, but I believe that I can achieve it!
So here is to a new perspective!!

Sometimes we stare so long at a door that is closing that we see too late the one that is open

A BackSplash with meaning

When we built our house a few years back the back splash was the last thing on the list. We had great plans for an incredible design that include lots of fancy design. Well, as the work list grow longer and then time grow shorter our back splash grow plainer. It was one of those "future" projects.
Well....I am so thankful for my PLAIN back splash!!
A few months back I decided to tackle the project. I was discussing with my mom about my design options. She mentioned to me that I might ask grandma for some of the rock she had. (I am not sure what it is but there is something about rock that I love. I am sure it has to do with the "Count your many rocks" story.)
I was unaware of any rock my grandma had, She built her house well over 60 years ago. Out of kindness to my mom I asked her to get me some. This is what she brought!
Can I tell you how much I loved it? It was Perfect!
When my grandma Perry, first married my grandpa, her father in law just adored her. He was giving man and always thought of others. He spend many hours doing "nice" things for my grandma. One of those nice "things" was quarry this rock for her, by hand. It meant so much to her that she has moved it a handful of times. She has actually paid moving companies to move it with all of their belongings. (That is saying a lot considering they have never had a lot of money)
As I talked to my Grandma more about the rock, I found that my great grandfather had a love for rocks. He collected all kinds. I never meet my great grandfather, I heard he was quite a man. I guess that when I do meet him, I will have something in common.
