8. Went to lunch with Nickcole. We visited forever. I think they were ready to kick us out. But we had a good time.
9. Will and Mischa, Daryl and Camilla, and families came over for Sunday dinner. We enjoyed visiting with them and our kids LOVED playing with their kids.
10. Garry and I went to the Salt Lake temple to witness our friend Angie be sealed to her husband. It was an incredible experience. The temple president sealed them. He talked about always putting your spouses happiness above your own. He said that if we did that we would be happier than if we only thought about ourselves. He also talked about what it means to give yourself to the other. I was grateful for the opportunity I had to be there. I am thankful that I have this life to learn and grow because I have a lot of that to do.

POLICE-AMBULANCE-MONEY-TEMPLE RECCOMED--SKIRTLESS
Oh my what do these have in common? LAST NIGHT!
We just spent $800.00 to have Garry's car fixed. After sinking in the $800.00 the repair guy told us that it did not fix the problem and that the original problem would actually coast $1000.00 more to fix. He said the car is not worth it. He told us to drive it until it died.
So yesterday Garry decided to go behind Utah lake to come home because the car was acting funny. I get a call about 5:45 from a number I truly did not recognize. After letting the call go to voice mail I retrieved the message only to know that it was Garry and that he card had broken down in the middle of NOWHERE!! As I started the LONG drive behind Utah lake I wondered how far out he would be. Oh let's just say he was in the middle of nowhere. He coasted to a house that is about 5 miles or more from any other neighbors where he used their phone to call me. I picked him up about 7:00. We were supposed to meet with the stake president for our recommend by 7:30. When we meet with our bishopric they reminded us to make sure we wore "proper" attire. No Levis was particularly mentioned. We made it to the stake center at 7:30 in Levis and all. I had Garry drop me off while he went home to change and grab a skirt that I could slip on. Just as soon as he left our bishop walked through the doors. I was just embarrassed. After explaining the situation he just laughed. They still let me in and as I came out there sat Garry in his tie and all with my skirt on his lap!
About 9:00 the phone rings. When I answered it the voice on the other end said this,
"This is going to be a weird question."
"Okay"
"Did your husband brake down in Alberta?"
"Yes"
"Where is he?"
"Right here."
"Oh okay I just wanted to make sure he was okay. There are a bunch of police, ambulance, and fire trucks out here looking for him."
Apparently someone has driven by and thought he looked in distress. So they called 911. So 911 came in full force. The lady said they had a helicopter with a spot light on it looking to. I kinda of think that is a little overkill, but then again I knew he was safe at home.
So you might ask what the morale of the story is? Listen to the spirit. When I left the house that morning I had a feeling to take my skirt with me. I dismissed the thought as crazy. That skirt, it I would have had it on I would have not been embarrassed. Of course I still would be out $800.00 dollars and a car that won't run. But I would have had the comfort knowing that I recognized the spirit prompting me.

Ten on Tuesday Sept. 16-23
Ten on Tuesday
This seems like a slow week but I will try to list 10 things.
1. I went to a meeting with my dad. While at the meeting the presenter kept making comments about certain poitical leaders. I leaned over to my dad and asked him if now was a good time to let him know what he did. After the meeting we had a few questions for the presenter. While he was talking to us he let us know the they were "idiots" up on capital hill. After the conversation was nearing the end my dad pulled out a business card and handed it too him and said, "Let's work together to make something happen." The presenter was speechless for several seconds before replying, "I am sorry, I don't know what to say." It was actually really funny. My dad was not offended what so ever but also offered him someone that could help his concerns.
2. I went to my friends Nancy's to make some cards. It was a whole lot of fun because I have not pulled out my scrapbook stuff for years. Here are the two cards that I made while there.
3. We also went on a midnight fry run. We got a little hungry and went to McDonalds to get some "fresh" fries. They told us they were always fresh but then let us wait 3minutes for the brand new batch.
4. Caden's football team had a practice/barbeque. It is nice to talk with the other moms on the team and get to know them a little better. I have actually meet two that have ties to the basin. While there we got eaten alive by mosquites.
5. Another football game for Caden. He only has two more. This has been a long and fun season. Mom and Dad Anderson came up to watch him. They also brought yummy donuts and juice. Always a treat on a Saturday morning so early.
6. Went and saw the kitchen that Garry built for some people. It was really nice. The people were very impressed with his work.
7. Went to the cabin with Todd, Stefany, and family. We laughed till our sides ached.
8. Saw a HUGE elk on the way home from the cabin. It was so beautiful. Listened to it call other elk.
9. Had a migraine. I HATE THOSE!!
10. Followed up on some personal goals.

Having fun with friends
This weekend we went to the cabin with Todd, Stefany and their kids. We had so much fun. I tell ya, that Stefany is FUNNY!!!
Caden had a football game on Saturday morning and then Garry had to help Todd finish some things that he was doing at a house he is remodeling. So in other words we got a late start. We waited for Stef at the Kmart parking lot. When she drove up the first thing she said is, "Was I worth the wait?"
Stef, you are ALWAYS worth the wait!!
By the time we got there it was late, but with us that is always when the most fun starts. Games, finding Todd, EXCELLENT ghost stories, food, and of course laughing rounded out the evening. By the way, I was told that I am fun to camp with because I know how to bring FOOD.
The next morning Garry made us his famous kitchen sink omelets. They have everything except for the kitchen sink. They are really good!
We went to the local branch for Church. With the 12 of us there were less the 50 people there. The speakers did an excellent job.
After church it was more food, fun, naps, and games!!
Here is a small list of parts of our conversation:
"Take a breast" See if you can figure that one out!
"Are you making a power move"
"Trumpet, bench vibrating"
"Todd is so good looking"-this one by STEF
"Check Fraud"
Here are a few of the good pics:
Stef trying to threaten me with a rubber band. Believe you me, I was scared!!
Garry trying really hard to win at Rummikub. I don't ever know if there was a winner because Stef played all our hands.
We had to include this rare sight. The boys doing dishes.
Todd and Stef, don't they make such a cute couple!
Where the life of the party was!!
Kindred Spirits
Garry and Marlie playing tic-tac-tree
On the way home we saw an enormous elk. He ran and was hiding in these trees. We could here him calling. I love to be in nature and just feel what is around me. Aren't these trees beautiful?
What a good weekend! I need to catch up on my sleep now. I am thankful for a great family and great friends!!!

Thoughtful Thursday
The more aware you are of what you feel and how you react, the less likely you will be to turn to other methods to numb your feelings. Today is another opportunity to get in touch with your feelings and reactions. Enjoy the day as you never have before, embrace all people and situations as opportunities for growth and change.
I read this quote and liked it. I have been struggling a little and it kind of puts life into perspective for me.
WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

This picture was taken about two years ago while we were still living in Santaquin. I love it because it shows such tenderness between the two boys. Not somthing I see everyday!

Memory Monday
Today as I was elbow deep in dinner, homework, lauundry, bills, and life I had to laugh at myself. I remember those first few months of marriage when I was working full time and going to school full time and the dishes never seemed to be done and the laundry never seemed to be finished. I thought that when I was done with school and didn't work those little things would get done. Well, along came that cute little baby and the dishes never got done and laundry never seemed to be finished. I remember thinking that life would get easier when he grew up and was not in diapers and ect. Well 10 years later, my dishes are never done and my laundry is NEVER caught up I no long have any kids in diapers and I actually have helpers. So the point of my story is; "Time will not take care of things you don't like to do. It will just continue to remind you you need to deal with those things in life you don't like to deal with." KWIM?

Caden and Football
CADEN is number 64!
Caden is playing tackle football for the first time this year. Football is his favorite sport. He is really good at it. He plays the offensive and defensive line. He is also one of the punters. His little team is doing great. The first game they lost by a long shot. His second game they actually got a few first downs. Last night they scrimmaged against an older team and beat them. They are working really hard. As a mother I am getting a glimpse into what life is going to be like as my kids grow into teenagers. Running them to all kinds of practices and still having the same amount of work to do at home. I am proud of Caden. He has learned to work his hardest and give it all he has.
The lessons that his is learning are meant to teach football skills but actually teach him life skills which in turn teaches him about gospel principles. Skills like working hard even when it seems not necessary, learning that if you have done your best you are a winner, and when it gets hard not to give up because the best part is just around the corner.

Thoughtful Thursday
Several years ago we had the opportunity to visit Nauvoo and other church history sites. We spent the week gaining an understanding of what the saints went through as they move forward in their dedication to the Gospel. I was amazed with all the faith they seemed to have. On the way home we stopped at Martin's Cove. The missionaries taught us about the great suffering the families went through. They taught of mothers freezing to death as the cuddled their children to keep them warm. They listened to their children cry out in hunger knowing there was nothing they could do to ease the enormous pain.
At that time Caden was 10 months old. I thought about what I would do if I were in the same situation with my kids. I would take off my coat to give to him. I would give my food to quiet those hungry cries. I would do what those moms did. My question to myself was, Did I have enough faith to go through something like that to substain my belief in God?
I hoped so, but I wanted to make sure that I did. I decided that I would pray to increase my faith. I was scared to pray. I thought that if I prayed for something like that that I would definitely loose a child, or my husband, or some other great catastrophe. After a few weeks of thinking things through I decided if that is want it took to get the faith necessary for myself in this life than I would be better off.
I knelt by the side of my bed and asked that the Lord grant me with a stronger deeper faith. The faith that I would need to do those things that he would require of me.
Days later I had to run some errands. I loaded my baby into his car seat and begin to back out of the drive way. I had an impression to switch cars and take Garry's car. Well that was obviously a big pain since I would have to move car seats and everything. I decided that I would follow the instructions recognizing them as a prompting from the spirt. I made the change and continued on my way. As I was driving I thought of all the things why the spirit would want me to change cars.
Hours later I returned home I remembered the earlier thoughts I had had about changing cars. I laughed to myself and thought maybe those instructions to change cars came from my own mind. As I turned to corner to my house I noticed that Garry was in the garage. I asked him what he was doing and he told me that he was changing a flat tire on my car. Then I had these thoughts impressed upon my mind....
"You don't have to learn from the big things if you can learn from the little things!"
My eyes filled with tears as I knew my prayer about faith had been answered. My quest for more faith had been answered. I also know at that very second that I had a Heavenly Father that loved me and know how to teach me in a way I could understand.

Wordless Wednesday
So my wordless Wednesday has words of course but a little explanation is needed. This first pic is about this huge bee that had a stinger a half inch long. (Notice it in the bottom left hand corner of the picture) While we were in Yellowstone it flew in my window and hit my check. I jumped a tad bit and said to the car's occupants that something had hit my check. (At this point I had no idea what hit me.) A couple of miles down the road I noticed a GINORMOUS bee on my shirt. I am terrified of bee's and this particular bee had a stinger a half inch long that was trying to sting me with. I was so scared I started to scream with turned to tears after the fact. BUT.. I did not get stung and after a few minutes of feeling greatly superior, being that the bee was tucked away in a plastic bad, I let it go.
This pic is one of those could have been scarry scenes but because everything turned out okay it is funny. As you can see there is a log over the river. Kale decided to walk across it to chase the little duckies on the other side. His very responsible parents were eating lunch at the time when we heard some screaming. As we ran to were the screams were coming from this is what we found. He had obviously fallen off the log into the river. LUCKILY....the river was slow moving and not deep. He rebounded out of the river so fast that no one had jumped in yet to save him. He was terrified and being the good mom I am I decided to let him be. I figured that there are somethings that it is okay to be afraid of.

Family Friday
My dear sweet Kale says the funniest things. Caden is playing tackle football this year and Hailee is one of the cheerleaders. As Hailee was practicing last night I noticed she could do things a little sharper.
Tonight I was standing in the kitchen talking to Hailee about what she could do better. I was getting ready for bed so I only had my shirt and underclothes on. (I had taken of my pants) As I begin to show Hailee how she could make her moves "Sharper" and how she could do the little hop thing better. Kale simply replied, "Mom you really should not cheerlead without your pants on."
Oh my, that kid. I asked him why but he just said "Cause."
I tell ya! That's what family is for.

Thoughtful Thursday
"It is better to be trusted than it is to be loved." Pres.David O McKay
When I heard this statement I had to think about it for a bit. Then I realized that the Lord loves us all, but we have to EARN his trust.

Wordless Wednesday
While we were in Vegas we went to a splash park. The kids discovered that if you put water down the slide before you go down you go really fast. Marlie discovered that if you put soap and water down the slide you go SUPER fast. (They used the "doggie do-do" bags to transport the water.

Thankful Tuesday

Today as I was thinking what I was thankful for. I have many things that I am thankful for but today I am thankful for Kale. He is the one in this family with a sense of humor. He always says the cutest thing. On Sunday Kale lost his very first tooth. He was so excited. On Sunday Kale said, "Now that my tooth is gone my boogers won't stay." I said, "What?" He said, "I used to put my boogers there and now my tooth is gone." I suggested that he use a tissue to put a booger on. He is so cute. He is a such a sweet kid.

Memory Monday
School started today for my kids. This year I have three in school all day. It is just me and Marlie here at home. What a weird feeling it is to have the realization that my kids are growing up.
I remember the first time Caden was preparing to enter kindergarten. I was so concerned that his sweet spirit would be corrupt by the influences of others. That I would not be there to protect him from evils in this world. I prayed diligently that he would make good friends and be an example to those around him. That he would be true to who he is.
The day that I took him to kindergarten was the beginning of my understanding of the true plan of redemption. I could not help but think the Lord know when he sent us down to earth we would be corrupted. That we would falter in the temptations of the world. That some of his children would never have a desire to see him again. He knew that coming to earth was our chance of gaining a spiritual education. He knew that we would suffer ridicules of others and other such things. BUT he knew if was for our good.
Today. as a dropped off Caden, Hailee, and Kale. I thought back to this lesson. I know that this year there will be hurt, there will be trails, there will be joys, there will be growth, there will failures, there will be accomplishments. And they will begin to understand the plan of salvation.

Thankful Tuesday
I am thankful for the spiritual gifts that the Lord has blessed each one of us with. I recently returned home from a 12 day dental trip. My aunt(who is my age)
and her husband are the dentists. It was so awesome to stay with her and her three small children. While there we were able to talk about our lives, our kids, our beliefs, our memories, and ect. We have always been different. We have different personalities, different wants, and different needs. We talked a lot about the Gospel and what it means to us in our lives. The thing that we both thought was awesome is that we each had differnt strengths. It was apparent that we each have a mission in life in which we need specific spiritual gifts. I realized that with our individual spiritual gifts the Lord's work is able to be completed. I am unique in the Lord's eyes but yet I have a part in the whole plan of the Lord.

Memory Monday
Up until the age of 8, I grew up on a dairy farm. We had cows to milk, bails of hay to turn over, horses to groom, and plenty of playing to do. Milking the cows with my dad was always a favorite of mine. Being with him and waiting for the milk truck to came and pick up the milk, were always something I looked forward too.
One day while I was helping my dad I decided to go in the other room that housed the big 5000 gallon milk tank. While in there I got a great idea. I was going to help myself to a drink of milk. I had watched countless times as the milk man came and hooked up his two inch hose to the faucett. I had also watched as my mom would bring down a jug a get some milk for the family.
In my little five year old mind I thought this was a great oppurtunity to get a drink of milk that I was not allowed to have. See, I am allergic to milk. I LOVE milk.!! But my parents would not allow me to drink it. SOOOOO, this was my chance.
I walked to the front of the tank. I slowly and carfully removed the cupling(I am sure there is a more technical name for it)Then I pushed the handle to open the lever oh, such a little tiny bit. For some reason that dang thing opened fully. I was knocked on my behind by a two inch stream of milk. I could not stand up to shut the milk stream off. It just kept coming and coming and coming. I thought that I was going to drowned in a room filled with milk.
Sometime from the point that I opened the tank to right before it completly emptied my dad notice milk seeping into the room he was in. As he followed the river of milk he found me knee deep in milk. He quickly closed it and asked, "Are you okay?" I remember thinking that I was really in trouble. He looked at me with the most gentle of eyes and told me to run home and change. He said that it was cold out and he did not want me to get sick.
As I walked home I remember KNOWING that he loved me. I remember understanding what love really was. I understood that as my dad, he realized that I would make mistakes. That I would cause him pain as I learned and grew. And through his pain I would learn lessons about life. That would someday help me get back to my other Father that is waiting.
I found out later that I flushed 2,000 gallons of milk down the drain. You might asked what I learned? Well, When your parents give you rules to obey....OBEY THEM. Weither they be your earthly parents or your Hevenly parents..they really do know what is best.
