A day to remember!
So yesterday was one of those days that don't come around too often and I am certainly thankful for that.
It started with a dear friend being REALLY sick. Her doctor lives here by me but she lives 45 minutes away. She could not drive because she was so sick. So I INSISTED that I take her. She really did not want to go but she needed to desperately! I was trying to arrange that around my work when my neighbor brought over our baby kitten that had been hit by a car and not dead. I was still working and could do absolutely nothing. After work, I went and picked my friend and took her to the doctor. After the doctor I took her home. (It was a very good thing she went) It was like a 5 hour trip) On my way back home I got a call from my kids that told me Kale had poured hot water on his hand and foot. I could not believe it. I finally got home around 5:00 and still had visiting teaching, going to the store and a birthday party. As I was getting ready to go visiting teaching I hear sirens. I look out the window and see a fire truck and an ambulance coming up my hill. I was sure one of my kids was dead. I started to cry before they even got here. It was just one of those days!! BUT they were not for me. Visiting teaching was great and the party was fun. I crawled into bed around 10:30 when Hailee asked me what we were doing for her class party tomorrow. WHAT!!! Apparently, Hailee forgot to tell me that I was in charge of a party for her entire class of 35 kids. I could not deal with it. I sent her to bed and started at the clock till it hit 12:00 so I could be assured a new day would come!
Oh by the way, this is after 3 hours of sleep the night before.

Mission Call
Well, the call finally came. Garry's parents have been planning on going on a mission for sometime now. They submitted their paperwork a few weeks ago and have been anxiously awaiting their call. Because of general conference and paperwork it took a little while to get. It came yesterday!!! They called us to let us know they were going to be opening it at 6:45 that night. I had bunco at my house and knew that I could not swing both. I was able to cancel bunco for another week! (Thanks girls for being understanding)
We all made made guesses as to where they would go. My guess was NY. My kids guessed California, Nevada, and Michigan. Needless to say, we were all wrong.
They are going to Ulbantar (Okay spelling is debatable) Mongolia!! WOW. I did not believe them at first! They will be serving in the CES program. They are not sure what they will be doing exactly but guessing teaching English. The mission is for 18 months.
I am so excited for them but tear up each time I think about it. Being that I grew up in a family of all girls I have never experienced someone leaving on a mission. (My grandparents went to Nauvoo when Caden was a baby. We were able to visit them twice) I think about how fast my kids will grow and what will happen while they are gone. I know that they will be able to touch the lives of so many. I think of the expieriences they will have and the personal growth they will experience and know they are doing the right thing.
Congratulations Mom and Dad. We love you!

A TALE OF KALE
So this little guy keeps us on our toes. We have to keep out eye on him at all times. The following is the reason why:
For his birthday he wanted a BB gun. We decided he was a little to you and a little to "excitable" to let him take up possesion of one. We did however comprimise on a air soft gun. Well from the get go the gun has never really worked that well. But on Friday he was target shooting when it miss fired. The pellet did not come out. So he decided to "see" why. He turned the gun around peered down the barrel of the gun and pulled the trigger. Well, it worked this time and shoot him right in the eye. After I made sure the eye was still there I got a wet rag and had him lay down. A few minutes later, still in a great deal of pain, he asked me, "So how much are glasses going to cost us."
So I learned a few things:
First- Trust your instinct. It may have saved his eye.
Second- The right to bear arms in an important part of our country but maybe it was not meant for a seven year old. (Loren, this is for you. LOL)
Third- Keeping my eye on him was not enough. I might need an all out guard.
Fourth- Common sense has no place in his brain!
He is okay. The red in gone and he is back to normale...Love ya Kale. Glad you are okay.

Hangin on by the seat of my pants!
Okay Marilee! Here is a post just for you.
Life has been really crazy latley. I have had so much to blog about but not enough time to blog it.
My job is going well. I love what I do. It is really convient having a commute time of 10 seconds. It seems to fit my family very well.
My family is doing well. I have three kids playing basketball this year and that will be intersting. Getting them all to practices and games. YIKES!!
Thanksgiving was a lot of fun. We went to Vernal. On Tuesday before I was able to be Kelby's escort with Jeremy's mom. It was really neat seeing here claim that blessing that she has been working so hard towards. I love ya girl. Thanks for sharing your life with me. Nickcole and Scot joined us at my parents house. It was fun to be with my family. I love them all dearly.
WE DID IT! We did family pictures. Not just our family but all 20 grandkids. We made it to Salt Lake before 9:00 a.m. that is a success for us.
On Friday after Thanksgiving Kelby called me to let me know that Jeramy's little brother had been killed in a car wreck. My heart is breaking for Jeramy's family. He was only 11. I attended the funeral and was impressed with the love and support that was there. I pray for his family everyday. At the funeral someone reminded Carrie, of the blessing Russell had given to her. He said, "Your Father in Heaven knows how you feel because he lost a son too." I am so sorry for his family. I love them.
I am thankful for all of my family and friends and consider you all the greatest blessing I have. Thank you,

Arrow of Light!!
On Caden's 11th birthday he was awarded the Arrow of Light.
We are so proud of him. He worked hard to earn it and seems to understand the signifigance of it. He is a good kid.
Nickcole and her kids came to watch him recieve it. It was really excited to have them here.
There were five boys that recieved it that night. It shows how AWESOME their leaders are. Thanks Anna and Tammy for putting your heart and soul into it. You have taught Caden to respect scouts and to give it all he has. THANKS for ALL you have done!!!
We love you Cade!!
A month in review
It has been so long since I have been able to post. So much has been going on that I almost don't know where to start. I guess I will work from the top down.
Garry has this long standing tradition that before Halloween his grandpa comes over and carves a pumpkin for the kids. It has been going on now for over 20 years. Now that all of Garry and his siblings are grown it is a tradition that the great grand kids look forward to.
Kale has always loved his Grandpa Brady. When he was two years old Grandpa let Kale play with the tools he had in his pocket. To this day he has never forgotten the kindness Grandpa gave to him.
Halloween was CRAZY. I had to work that day and I was still in training so I had to work on site. But from work I had to leave to go do Hailee's class party. I signed up to be the class mom this year because I felt I needed to help, which I do. So I made it there with 5 minutes to spare. It was a really fun party. We played a group game of wrapping the mummy. Then we divided into 4 stations. We decorated a Frankenstein, played pin the wart on the witched nose with gum, bingo, and the kids favorite making GOOP. It was a blast.
After school we were home for about a half hour and left to go truck or treating with Nicole and her family. They have the best trunk or treating ever. They give BIG candy bars, have a ultralight fly over and drop candy, and a live horse with a knight on it. Plus the kids go around and around until all the candy is gone.
From there we left and went drove to Boise. We got there at 2:00 am. I was so tired I thought that I would never be able to catch up on my sleep. It was really fun going to Boise. The baptism was at 10:00 a.m. We barley made it there. We missed the talks and the songs but did make it to the actual baptism of Brady. It was really neat. I love seeing the light that shines in their eyes when they come out of the water. It is something that I strive to have. On Sunday he was confirmed. I have not been to a confirmation that they have done on Sunday for a while and I have to say that it was neat. Brought a special feeling into the meeting.
After church we ate a yummy meal and were on our way back home. We stopped in Twin falls to visit Loren and Tama and their kids. They are all so cute and my kids had a great time fishing with their hands. They caught these weird little fish. Hailee's is still alive. I really wish it would go somewhere else so that I can I have bowl back. HEHE
Okay enough for now. I will post more in a bit!

A Week To Remember! Oct. 14- Oct. 21
I have been doing 10 on Tuesday as a way to remember what I have done the past week. Well I always end up doing it on Wednesday, so I decided to change the title to be less specific. So from now on it will be "A week to remember"
This has been a fun week. I have been able to spend time doing what I love the most. Spending time with family and friends!!
1. Nicole and I started a tradition several years ago in which we go to Red Lobster while Kyle is deer hunting with the his boys. It was one of those things that just happened at first but has since became an advent that we all look forward too.
It has grown now to all my sisters coming if they can. There have been some years where all of us have been there and some when just four of us have been there. My mom hurt her back really bad so she is unable to sit or stand for a very long time. She rode all the way out just to be with us for a few hours. Amber was sweet enough to drive the 6 hours round trip to be with us too. Thank you Amber and Mom for doing that to be with us! We really appreciate it!!
I feel so lucky to be blessed with so many wonderful sisters. Thank you!! BTW Thanks Nicole for treating us!!!!
2. After dinner we went to a park to let the kids play while we visited. We only had the girls with us and what do you know. They play football. It was really funny to listen mom as she tried to translate what we were saying. She kept hearing things completly different then what we said. It was funny!! LOVE YA MOM!!
3. The day before Nicole treated all the girls to glitter toes!! It was soooooo much fun! These girls are so special and fun!!
This glitter stays on for six weeks!
Marlie said, "I am gonna show daddy by petty toes.
4. Five words my kids have never heard before!
Pick any toy you want
After glitter toes, we went to Costco and Nicole uttered those words. My kids eyes were as big as quarters. This was really nice. They were so fun to watch. My nephew Luke ran strait for a dozer. He just kept saying "A chine, A chine." It was really fun to see them run around the toys with excitment pumping through their veins. AGAIN! Thank you Nicole and Kyle. This was a VERY nice of you to do.
5. I taught relief society on Sunday. The lesson was entitled, Beyond the veil. What I really tried to emplement in my life is having a valiant testimony of Jesus. I have a testimony of Jesus but realized I don't have a VALIANT testimony of Jesus. It has been a really comforting experience learning to have a valinat testimony of Jesus.
6. Sunday night Garry's cousin family came over for dinner. Jutin, Michelle, Tegan, and Ryker. It has been a couple of years since we have seen them. Their boys and mine picked right up. Michelle you look GREAT! I am so proud of you because I know how hard it is. It was a really nice evening. Thanks for coming guys.
7. My kids had school off on Monday. So after work we took the kids to dinner and swimming. They LOVE swimming.
Caden, Hailee, and Kale ALWAYS play takcle football in water. Yea it is a little crazy.
This is one of Garry's favorite things to do while we are swimming. Marlie, not so much! But of course Kale and Caden love it. They are just a little harder to chuck up in the air.

Marlie loves this little slide! After this little slide she braved the big one. Of course daddy's lap was the only place she felt safe but she loved it. She kept saying let's go again daddy. She is a sweetie.
I really hate this picture of me but we were having so much fun. I hate water in my eyes so I am squinting. These are my cute little girls. I love them so much. They are truly part of me.
8. I started a job! I am working for a company called Propay. I am in their customer service department. I am really excited. I have been in training the last few days and it has been GREAT!! I will be taking the cutomer calls from home. Propay is a great company who really stresses treating people right. It fits me to a T. I have really enjoyed myself.

Ten on Tuesday Oct. 7th - 14th
Ten memories from this past week.
1. Caden had his year end party for football. He got an award for being a great safety. The coach said he liked playing corner back better but was "lethal" as safety. He was said to see the season come to an end. I on the other hand am ready for a little less busyness.
2. We went to church back in our old ward. My friend Corrie blessed her cute little baby. It was a beautiful blessing. It was really fun to see my friends. I felt like I sill fit right in.
3. I laughed my butt off with Corrie's family. They were great. At dinner Corrie's brother made a comment about not shopping for a girl while being a missionary. To which I replied, "I meet Garry on his mission." He turned red and I laughed so hard. Stuff like this happens to me all the time. I am usually the one on the other end of the conversation.
4. Marlie made a couple of cute comments that I wanted to remember. At church she leaned over during sacrament and asked me, "Why do they not put butter on the bread?" I thought she understood the purpose of the sacrament since we have pictures and books of Jesus but I guess the connection did not stick. Then again she is only 4. After church she said, "Momma, the wibbon is dwiving me cwazy!" Not there is not spelling errors that is how she said it. CUTE GIRL!
5. On Saturday we had our Super Saturday. Of course I signed up for too much stuff. I had a really great time laughing with the ladies in my ward. I am grateful to be a part of this ward with such awesome ladies.
6. I have really been working hard on getting up earlier and doing my prayers and scriptures. It is going really well. The peace that I have found is worth every minute of less sleep. I am thankful for a patient Heavenly Father that has not given up on me.
7. Garry and I went to the temple with Todd, Stef, Brian and Marilee. It was really nice. After the temple we went to dinner at the Olive Garden. It was a nice evening. I am thankful that we have temples and good friends.
8. I witnessed the crash between the cop and another few cars. WOW.
9. I ran into my old bishop at parent teaching conference. He was there answering question about the new high school. He is the principle for it. I have so much respect for him. He is an amazing man that I look up too and am thankful for all he did for me.
10. Kale got in a fight at school. The little stinker. Things are better but man that kid. He is so intense about everything he does. He told me that he apologized to his friend. I really hope he did and that he learned something. Like, You don't have to hit to work out a problem. That lesson would benefit me here at home!!!

What a day!
Today I was on my way home from Brigham City and North Ogden when I meet up with Autumn to pick up Colby. After I picked him up I stopped at a gas station really quick and was on my way home. I had 3 parents teacher conferences I needed to get to. I had to make a left hand turn on a very busy street. As I waited for the light to turn green I noticed that a cop was approaching the same intersection coming the opposite way. He slowed since the other direction had the green light. He turned his lights and siren on as he proceeded through the intersection. All of a sudden a car slammed right into him about two feet in front of my bumper. The cop car bounced and then went slamming into a car that was turning right. Colby said, "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW." Marlie said, "What happened?" At first I didn't know what to do. I could see that the air bags on the cops car had deployed so I got out and asked the driver in the other car if he was okay. He said he was and then I ran to the cop car as he was climbing out and I asked him if he was okay. He said he was fine. I really had no need to call 911 since, well you know. I really have no idea how I did not get hit. One of the cops told me I must be living right. Probably more like I have a lot left to learn! Anyways, I missed the parent teacher thing but Garry went for me. AND we are all safe! Moral of the story, pray this does not happen to you. The guy that hit the cop was at fault but he really could not see him. His light was green and the other cars were blocking the view of the cop. He literally had no time to break! (Loren let me know how this would play out in the courts?)

Ten on Tuesday Sept 30th-Oct 7, 2008
Okay this ten on Tuesday is a little late but....
1. We went with the Anderson's to the pumpkin patch. This is one of those things that started out as fun and has turned into a tradition.
We meet at mom's house for soup and rolls, and then off to the patch.
We take a hay ride through the orchards and end up in a great big pumpkin patch.
The kids pick their pumpkin and then we take a hay ride back to get an ice cream, donut, or fudge in the big red barn.
It is a lot of fun.
2. Steve Young was supposed to come to Caden's football practice. After waiting for two hours he called and was lost. So needless to say he did not come. We were all kind of bummed.
3. On Friday we went to Garry's mission reunion. It was fun to see some of the people that we both knew while we were there. At Garry's mission reunion, I was being very nice and clearing the tables along with a few other people. I walked back to the back to put the dirty silverware away. As I dropped it in a man turned and before I knew it my hand was caught in the back of his coat. I do not knew how it got tangled but it was tangled. After freeing my hand I apologized. His respond was, "That is okay I liked it." Only to me do things like this happen!!
4. Hailee and Kale cleaned my room to surprise me. They are so sweet. They did it just to be nice. Thank you Hailee and Kale! It meant a lot to me.
5. Watched Caden's last football game. Nickcole and her kids came and cheered Caden on, through rain and all.
His team got their first touchdown of the seasons. All the mom's were so excited that they ran down the field with the boy. It was really cool. Caden almost got an interception, He intercepted it and then dropped it.
6. After priesthood session, Nickole and Scot took Garry out for dinner to celebrate his birthday. We went to Texas Roadhouse were Garry had the great fortune of being able to sit in the saddle while they sang Happy Birthday to him. Let me tell you, he was REALLY excited. After dinner we played cards and I am happy to report that they ladies are now up by 5 games. We are good.
7. I went to the salon to get my hair done. My friend Kate did it for me. I told her that I wanted all the gold out of it. Bless her little heart, five hours later and about 500 foils it was done. Marlie was a little champ. She just sat there and watched movies and watched what everbody was doing.
8. Watched conference. We really enjoyed it. As always, I received a lot of direction that I am so thankful for. I am thankful that I have the knowledge that my Heavenly Father loves me and that he is concerned about me here on the earth. It really makes me feel not alone. That I have someone pulling for me.
9. Made my traditional egg roll, ham fried rice, and cheese puffs dinner. It was a lot of fun because all the kids were helping. Kale got pretty good at rolling the egg rolls. They all helped stuff the cheese puffs and cut the green onions.
10. How could I write anything without there being major money spent on a car. So Last Monday I took the truck to get the safety and emissions and it failed safety. They said it was going to cost 350.00 to fix the problem. I told them that I had a "credit" from another shop and that they could fix it. Garry did it and it cost 36.00 dollars. Yea, it passed. We finally have two cars again. Oh by the way, if anyone wants a car there is sitting one outside my front door you are welcome to have it.

Thoughtful Thursday
Okay so it is Friday but I was crazy busy the last few days so Friday it will be.
"Treat people as if they
were what they ought to be and you help them to become what they are capable of being."
I love this quote. It gives me an insight into how Christ must think. I think if we lived up to what we thought we could be verse what we think others want us to be we would all have the ability to live up to our potential.

10 on Tuesday Sept 23-30th
1. Garry turned 36! His birthday was Saturday.
2. Mom and Dad Anderson, Mom and Dad Van Tassell, Kevin, Ashlee, and Bry, and Jenny, Eldon and Kye, Came for a brunch to celebrate Garry's Birthday.
3. Caden had an awesome football game. He made 3 tackles that stopped touchdowns. He did really good. Even though his team lost the game he felt his did all that he could do.
4. We went to dinner with Todd and Stef to celebrate Garry's birthday. We had a great time. I am thankful to count them as our friends.
5. I did two den meetings this week. I did it with the Bears and the Wolves. We are going to be combining for the next few months because I do not have any more Bears.
6. I went to a meeting about being a room mother. I am Hailee's room mother this year. I am looking forward to it because I will get to spend more time with her and her friends.
7. Spent $800.00 dollars on a car that worked for a half of a day! Refer to my other post for the whole story.
8. Went to lunch with Nickcole. We visited forever. I think they were ready to kick us out. But we had a good time.
9. Will and Mischa, Daryl and Camilla, and families came over for Sunday dinner. We enjoyed visiting with them and our kids LOVED playing with their kids.
10. Garry and I went to the Salt Lake temple to witness our friend Angie be sealed to her husband. It was an incredible experience. The temple president sealed them. He talked about always putting your spouses happiness above your own. He said that if we did that we would be happier than if we only thought about ourselves. He also talked about what it means to give yourself to the other. I was grateful for the opportunity I had to be there. I am thankful that I have this life to learn and grow because I have a lot of that to do.

POLICE-AMBULANCE-MONEY-TEMPLE RECCOMED--SKIRTLESS
Oh my what do these have in common? LAST NIGHT!
We just spent $800.00 to have Garry's car fixed. After sinking in the $800.00 the repair guy told us that it did not fix the problem and that the original problem would actually coast $1000.00 more to fix. He said the car is not worth it. He told us to drive it until it died.
So yesterday Garry decided to go behind Utah lake to come home because the car was acting funny. I get a call about 5:45 from a number I truly did not recognize. After letting the call go to voice mail I retrieved the message only to know that it was Garry and that he card had broken down in the middle of NOWHERE!! As I started the LONG drive behind Utah lake I wondered how far out he would be. Oh let's just say he was in the middle of nowhere. He coasted to a house that is about 5 miles or more from any other neighbors where he used their phone to call me. I picked him up about 7:00. We were supposed to meet with the stake president for our recommend by 7:30. When we meet with our bishopric they reminded us to make sure we wore "proper" attire. No Levis was particularly mentioned. We made it to the stake center at 7:30 in Levis and all. I had Garry drop me off while he went home to change and grab a skirt that I could slip on. Just as soon as he left our bishop walked through the doors. I was just embarrassed. After explaining the situation he just laughed. They still let me in and as I came out there sat Garry in his tie and all with my skirt on his lap!
About 9:00 the phone rings. When I answered it the voice on the other end said this,
"This is going to be a weird question."
"Okay"
"Did your husband brake down in Alberta?"
"Yes"
"Where is he?"
"Right here."
"Oh okay I just wanted to make sure he was okay. There are a bunch of police, ambulance, and fire trucks out here looking for him."
Apparently someone has driven by and thought he looked in distress. So they called 911. So 911 came in full force. The lady said they had a helicopter with a spot light on it looking to. I kinda of think that is a little overkill, but then again I knew he was safe at home.
So you might ask what the morale of the story is? Listen to the spirit. When I left the house that morning I had a feeling to take my skirt with me. I dismissed the thought as crazy. That skirt, it I would have had it on I would have not been embarrassed. Of course I still would be out $800.00 dollars and a car that won't run. But I would have had the comfort knowing that I recognized the spirit prompting me.

Ten on Tuesday Sept. 16-23
Ten on Tuesday
This seems like a slow week but I will try to list 10 things.
1. I went to a meeting with my dad. While at the meeting the presenter kept making comments about certain poitical leaders. I leaned over to my dad and asked him if now was a good time to let him know what he did. After the meeting we had a few questions for the presenter. While he was talking to us he let us know the they were "idiots" up on capital hill. After the conversation was nearing the end my dad pulled out a business card and handed it too him and said, "Let's work together to make something happen." The presenter was speechless for several seconds before replying, "I am sorry, I don't know what to say." It was actually really funny. My dad was not offended what so ever but also offered him someone that could help his concerns.
2. I went to my friends Nancy's to make some cards. It was a whole lot of fun because I have not pulled out my scrapbook stuff for years. Here are the two cards that I made while there.
3. We also went on a midnight fry run. We got a little hungry and went to McDonalds to get some "fresh" fries. They told us they were always fresh but then let us wait 3minutes for the brand new batch.
4. Caden's football team had a practice/barbeque. It is nice to talk with the other moms on the team and get to know them a little better. I have actually meet two that have ties to the basin. While there we got eaten alive by mosquites.
5. Another football game for Caden. He only has two more. This has been a long and fun season. Mom and Dad Anderson came up to watch him. They also brought yummy donuts and juice. Always a treat on a Saturday morning so early.
6. Went and saw the kitchen that Garry built for some people. It was really nice. The people were very impressed with his work.
7. Went to the cabin with Todd, Stefany, and family. We laughed till our sides ached.
8. Saw a HUGE elk on the way home from the cabin. It was so beautiful. Listened to it call other elk.
9. Had a migraine. I HATE THOSE!!
10. Followed up on some personal goals.
